Bobcat Releases Tillers and Mid-Mount Mowers for Compact Tractors

Bobcat Company has released new implements for use on compact tractors. Three rear-mounted tillers and a mid-mount mower are now available.

Bobcat Rear-Mount Tillers

The tillers can accomplish tasks such as breaking ground; preparing soil for planting; amending soil with fertilizer, manure or mulch; and removing weeds between tree rows

Landscapers, homeowners with acreage, farmers and others use rear-mounted tillers for a variety of site preparation and maintenance tasks. The tillers can accomplish tasks such as breaking ground; preparing soil for planting; amending soil with fertilizer, manure or mulch; and removing weeds between tree rows.

Bobcat® tillers are built with features that allow operators to easily complete these tasks. Bobcat models are top-cut tillers — the tiller tines rotate in the same direction as the tires when the tractor is moving forward.

With three models available, Bobcat tillers have the ability to cover the full width of most compact tractor models. Bobcat tillers cover the tire tracks for a consistent finish, eliminating tiller side-shifting, and reducing the need for more than one pass to complete work. To further increase efficiency, Bobcat tiller skid shoes are adjustable to allow for various cutting depths up to 7 inches.

The tiller storage stand makes it easy for one person to hook up or remove the tiller from the tractor. The Bobcat stand holds the tiller in place and allows the tractor to back up to the tiller, making it easier for the operator to attach the tiller to the tractor without assistance.

The 3TIL48 has a 48-inch cutting width and is for category 0 and 1 3-point hitches. It is compatible with the Bobcat CT120 and CT122. With a 59-inch cutting width, the 3TIL60 is designed for category 1 3-point hitches, and is compatible with the Bobcat CT120, CT122, CT225, CT230 and CT235. The 3TIL74 has a 74-inch cutting width, is designed for category 1 and category 2 3-point hitches and can be used with the Bobcat CT230 and CT235.

Bobcat Mid-Mount Mowers

The MM54 is compatible with Bobcat CT120 and CT122 compact tractors. Additional mid-mount mowers for larger compact tractors will be released throughout 2008

Homeowners with acreage, landscape companies and others use mid-mount mowers to cut grass in areas where maneuverability is tight.

The Bobcat mid-mount mower has six anti-scalping wheels that protect the mower blades and turf from damage. The anti-scalping wheels touch the ground first when mowing over uneven terrain and prevent the mower deck from scraping the ground, resulting in longer blade life and a consistent cutting height.

The anti-scalping wheels are fixed to the mower deck and can be adjusted when an extremely low cutting height is desired. For most mowing applications, the anti-scalping wheels do not need adjustment. The Bobcat mid-mount mower height is adjusted by the lever that controls the height of the three-point hitch, allowing the operator to change the mower height during operation.

The Bobcat MM54 mid-mount mower has a cutting width of 54 inches and a side discharge. The MM54 is compatible with Bobcat CT120 and CT122 compact tractors. Additional mid-mount mowers for larger compact tractors will be released throughout 2008.

Fifty years ago, Bobcat Company unleashed a way to work better, smarter, faster. During 2008, the company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bobcat compact equipment, which began with the Melroe Self-Propelled Loader — a three-wheeled front-end loader — in 1958. That machine evolved into the Bobcat skid-steer loader and spawned the worldwide compact equipment industry. Today, Bobcat continues to lead the world in the design, manufacture and distribution of compact equipment.

Bobcat Company, headquartered in West Fargo, N.D., is part of Doosan Infracore International (DII), a U.S.-based subsidiary of Doosan Infracore, a global manufacturer of construction equipment.
