This advanced hydraulic system, now standard on Bobcat 331, 331E, 334 and 430 excavators, is similar to that used in large excavators. It offers owners and operators a number of benefits, ranging from smoother, more precise control of the machine to more efficient use of engine horsepower.

The heart of this advanced hydraulic system is a variable displacement, torque-limiting, dual outlet piston pump. It continually senses and responds to hydraulic loads, reducing engine lugging, extending component life and improving fuel economy. What’s more, this pump provides industry-leading cycle times and impressive breakout forces.

Smoother operation

A new closed center control valve manages oil flow for seamless multi-function operation as speeds and workloads change. This produces a consistent, predictable response when you move the controls, resulting in precisely balanced boom, arm and bucket functions for a smooth, consistent work cycle. This precision is especially useful when performing delicate tasks.

Easy hydraulic clamp installation

An auxiliary port relief on the closed center valve simplifies installation of the hydraulic clamp, making these machines the only ones in their class that are truly “clamp ready.”

Better lifting ability

Small diameter cylinders, combined with a higher operating pressure, improve hydraulic performance in lifting applications. By reducing overall flow requirements, the smaller cylinder displacement also results in more efficient use of engine horsepower.

Smoother travel control

A pilot-operated travel control system provides smooth, predictable response with little effort when operating the travel controls. As before, you can control travel function using either the two-piece travel pedals—which fold forward when not in use— or hand levers.
