Toolcat 5600: Perfect Machine for Large Estate

Estate owner W. Allan Jones figures the Toolcat™ 5600 was designed with him in mind.

“This is the perfect machine for anyone with acreage,” he says. “Bobcat Company must have been thinking of me when this first-of-a-kind product was invented.”

Many of the early purchasers of the Toolcat 5600 would agree with Jones’ opinion. That’s because this two-passenger utility work machine is so versatile and practical. It is an attachment carrier with a hydraulic cargo box that can pull another unit behind it.

Jones, chairman and CEO of Jones Management Services, LLC, was one of the first in North America to purchase the 5600. He already owned Bobcat equipment—a skidsteer loader, a compact track loader and several attachments.

Jones’ interest in new, cuttingedge technology is what led him to Bobcat products.

“I like to buy the best products available and I do a lot of research to determine the market leader. That’s why I own Bobcat loaders, and why I was eager to take a look at the Toolcat 5600 when it first came out.”

Jones’ 400-acre Cleveland, Tenn., estate is a landscape showcase, with trees, bushes, flowers (many produced in the on-site greenhouse), a stream and a full-size lighted football field with clubhouse and grandstand. The estate has a dazzling fiber-optic communications and security system that enables him to monitor the property from his downtown office.

A dozen landscape and maintenance workers keep the estate in award-winning shape. Prior to the arrival of the Toolcat 5600 a common type of utility vehicle was used around the grounds.

“Those units tear up the turf too much,” says Jones. “The 5600 is much easier on the property. It has a lot more horsepower, good lifting capacity and a comfortable work environment. Plus, the Toolcat unit is extremely versatile. We can use it with dozens of Bobcat attachments. That’s what makes it so valuable.

“I have always been interested in the latest and greatest technological developments,” says Jones. “For me the Toolcat 5600 ranks right up there with the best in new products.”
