First owners of the revolutionary Toolcat 5600™ report that this new Bobcat® work machine is:

An Ideal (Hobby) Farm Hand

“I don’t know of anything else like it on the market,” says Denny Elwell. “This is just the ticket for our application.”

He’s been using his Toolcat 5600 for a variety of jobs—from moving dirt and pushing snow to feeding deer—on his family’s 40-acre hobby farm near West Des Moines, Iowa. The unit does the work of four other machines: A small farm tractor, a riding lawn mower, an all-terrain vehicle and a loader. “The 5600 will take the place of all that other equipment,” says Elwell.

His Toolcat 5600 has an enclosed cab with heating and air conditioning. All-wheel steer allows him to turn smoothly on grass surfaces with minimal disturbance and to maneuver on paved surfaces—including a stamped concrete driveway—without leaving tire marks. Elwell uses the machine with several Bobcat attachments—bucket, pallet forks, auger, tiller and snow blade.

“It’s a beefy unit with an abundance of power,” he says.

An Agile Machine for Snow Removal

The all-wheel steer feature of the Toolcat 5600 attracted the attention of Bud Foote, Cambridge, Minn. He owns Cambridge Mini-Storage—300 storage units in several buildings spread over a 3-acre site.

“As soon as I saw the Toolcat 5600 I knew that’s what I wanted,” says Foote. “All-wheel steering is a big advantage in my business. I can turn in very limited space. And it rides smoothly on our blacktop pavement. Plus, it has excellent visibility.”

The machine is equipped with an enclosed, heated and air conditioned cab, and AM/FM radio. Foote uses it with pallet forks to move empty pallets and a bucket to clear snow from areas which larger equipment can’t reach.

“It should prove to be a good choice for our type of work,” he says.

An Outstanding Landscaping Machine

An enclosed, air conditioned cab and the 2,000-lb. capacity cargo box helped convince Matt Foskey, Aiely, Ga., to purchase a Toolcat 5600 for his business, Four Rivers Landscaping and Irrigation.

“I can haul mulch or straw bales on sites where I can’t use a truck,” he says. “To unload, I just hit a button to dump the cargo box.”

He uses his Toolcat 5600 with several Bobcat attachments—trencher, soil conditioner, auger, pallet forks and mower. When using the mower on the 20 acres around his home, “I mow around curved flower beds without tearing up turf,” he says.

The cab also rates high with Foskey. “It’s nice to sit in comfort and out of the heat and dust when I’m working.”
