Bobcat System Keeps Concrete Projects on Schedule

Bobcat system

The Bobcat System keeps work quality and productivity high for B&B Concrete Construction.

B& B Concrete Construction, Inc., Orange, Texas, has succeeded in a very demanding business by focusing on quality and dependability.

“That’s where it’s at,” says Danny Bentley, who started the family operation.

“Concrete is unforgiving. You either get it right or you don’t. There’s no second shot at it, especially with weather like we have in southeast Texas. You can take a real hard lick if you don’t finish a concrete project in a timely fashion. We hit a job with the right people and the right equipment.”

He’s been relying on Bobcat® products for 17 years. “The dependability of Bobcat equipment has enhanced our business. It has never failed us.”

Most of B & B Concrete’s work involves commercial projects—excavating and preparing sites, pouring slabs, footers and grade beams, piers and sidewalks, and demolishing and removing concrete structures. The sites range from schools and restaurants to retail malls and metal buildings.

The company’s Bobcat System plays a big role in keeping project quality and productivity high. It includes four Bobcat loaders and two Bobcat compact excavators, plus various Bobcat attachments. This machinery gives crews a variety of size, power and performance options for using the loaders and
excavators as a team to work quickly and efficiently.

The Bobcat loaders—two S300s, a T200 compact track loader and a leased 873—are used with buckets and dozer blades to grade and move dirt. Bentley is especially impressed with the S300s, which feature a vertical lift path and a 3,000-lb. rated operating capacity. “We’re super-pleased with their
performance,” he says. “The power, lift capacity and lift height are a big advantage. So are the higher-flow hydraulics, which really improve the performance of our auger and breaker attachments.”

The size and speed of the company’s Bobcat 331 excavator really shines on interior work such as grading out foundations and digging grade beams. A larger 337 excavator has the power to take on bigger jobs.

More Work Faster

B & B Concrete’s Bobcat System also pays off with smooth operation, comfort and efficient use of power. “Even compared to machines similar in horsepower, you can do more work faster with Bobcat equipment,” Bentley says.

Ease of operation is another big Bobcat advantage. “Just about any employee with normal hand-eye coordination can learn to proficiently operate a Bobcat machine in a short while,” Bentley says. “I don’t have to depend on only a few operators to run the units.”

The Bobcat advantage also extends to strong service and support from his dealer, Bobcat of Lake Charles, Lake Charles, La. “They offer one of the best service centers I’ve ever dealt with,” Bentley says. “If I have a problem, they’re on top of it at the drop of a hat.”

In these and other ways, B & B Concrete continues to benefit from the power, speed, and dependability of its Bobcat equipment. As Bentley puts it: “Dollar for dollar, Bobcat Company has the top of the line when it comes to loaders and excavators.”
