Bobcat Training Resources Used in International Instructor Program
Bobcat Company products were the focus of the skid-steer loader training portion of a major international training session held in Chicago this summer.
The Instructor Development Program, sponsored by the Laborers-AGC Education and Training Fund, headquartered in Pomfret Center, Conn., provides intensive classroom and hands-on training for instructors who teach various job-related skills to union laborers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The Bobcat® Skid-Steer Loader Operator Training Course was selected as the curriculum of choice for the skid-steer loader segment of the weeklong program.
“This is an excellent course,” says Terry G. Johnson, training manager for the Laborers-AGC Education and Training Fund. “We like it because it goes beyond general operation, and covers topics such as maintenance, trouble-shooting and safety. Participants found it very helpful.”
Gene Kemmet, a retired hydraulics instructor at the North Dakota State College of Science, taught the skidsteer loader course.
“The two eight-hour sessions were very well received by the instructor-participants,” says Kemmet. “The participants’ experience with skid-steer loaders varied, but the excellent Bobcat training materials allowed them to learn a great deal about the equipment. They found the training video very interesting and they were eager to learn about and operate the loaders. I believe all the attendees were very satisfied with the training.”
Atlas Bobcat, the Bobcat dealer in the Chicago area, provided several skid-steer loaders used in the training sessions.
