Redefining versatility

New utility work machine raises the bar with front attachment and rear implement capabilities

Bobcat Company has transformed the compact equipment industry again with the extension of its one-of-a-kind utility work machine line. The new Toolcat™ 5610 redefines versatility for owners in agriculture, landscaping, buildings and grounds, and personal use.

Customers familiar with the Toolcat concept will notice right away that the rear of the machine has been redesigned to provide increased visibility and to accommodate three new rear options. The 5610 can be outfitted with a hydraulically driven power takeoff (PTO), a three-point hitch designed for Category 1 implements, or rear remote hydraulics with up to 5 gpm of hydraulic flow.

Option package 1: PTO

The 540 rpm PTO allows customers to run PTO-driven implements off the rear of the machine. The hydraulically driven motor provides plenty of horsepower to run rear-mounted mowers, tillers, sprayers, snowblowers, and even grain augers — just to name a few. Operators simply press a PTO switch in the cab to activate the system. Note: High-flow auxiliary hydraulics are required to employ this optional feature.

Option package 2: Category 1 three-point system

A second option is a three-point system to attach Category 1 implements to the 5610. These include many implements that customers may already own for their compact tractors. The 5610 operator controls the three-point system with a lever in the cab. A standard three-point linkage —with 1,775-pound lift capacity — connects the implements. Mowers, tillers and box blades are among hundreds of three-point hitch implements on the market today.

An added benefit of the three-point system is combining a hydraulic attachment (or implement) and a non-hydraulic attachment to use both simultaneously. Examples of this combination include a tiller attachment on the front and a three-point seeder on the back, or a snowblower on the front and a blade on the rear. Having the ability to carry both and choose the best option will save operators valuable time from multiple attachment changes.

The Category 1 three-point hitch is compatible with hundreds of implements available today.

Option package 3: Remote hydraulics

A third option for running implements off the back of the 5610 are the rear remote hydraulics. This allows the 5610 operator to control two different hydraulic functions with a push of a switch from within the cab to supply up to 5 gpm of momentary flow while the operator holds the switch down. This can be advantageous to adjust aftermarket top and tilt kit cylinders to cut a swale with a box blade, adjust a snow blade up and down on uneven ground, rotate a snowblower chute or raise foldable decks on a mower.

Redesigned rear

In addition to improved visibility, the new rear cover includes two compartments that can accommodate up to 50 pounds each to easily transport tools and other small items without carrying them in the cab. Another significant change is relocation of the cooling package from underneath the cargo box to a spot behind the cab. Better cooling circulation increases the 5610’s cooling capability. A two-inch receiver hitch comes standard, should the owner choose not to add one of the option packages.

Target markets

Some of the most likely customers of the 5610 are owners in the agriculture industry for mowing, tilling, land clearing and planting food plots. Landscapers will find the 5610 ideal for seeding, conditioning soil, final grading with a box blade and removing snow.

Homeowners with acreage can rely on the 5610 for land maintenance, planting trees, transporting bales for animals and snow removal.

Individuals who had the opportunity to see a prototype machine were very impressed with the 5610’s front and rear attachment abilities. They included equine enthusiasts who said the new unit will not only reduce the time it takes to complete routine chores at their ranch, but will fill a need at shows to drag infields, and comfortably transport people and supplies.
