2300 Makes Inroads on Construction Jobsites
Rick Weand and Sons
Rick Weand, Reading, Pa., first caught a glimpse of the new Bobcat® 2300 utility vehicle during a demonstration at his local dealership in mid-2006. As soon as he saw it, Weand knew he had to have the one-of-a-kind utility vehicle with the exclusive RapidLink™ attachment system.
"There's nothing like it on the market today," Weand says. "The attachment lift arm sold me on the machine."
Intended for year-round use, Weand ordered the 2300 utility vehicle with a pallet fork, bucket, snow blade and whisker push broom—attachments he will use on his many construction jobsites, as well as for snow removal at his rental properties.
It didn’t take long for Weand to put the machine to use. With the 2300 and bucket attachment, he quickly backfilled trenches where new electrical lines had been installed in a parking lot. He prefers the 2300 over heavier equipment because it doesn’t leave marks on new pavement when it turns. In
the winter, he plans to clear snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking lots with the versatile 2300, snow blade and whisker push broom.
Weand and his sons, Derrick and Brandon, have been Bobcat customers for more than six years, starting with a 753 skid-steer loader and eventually purchasing a 331E compact excavator. More recently, they traded the 753 for an S250. The family-owned business builds custom homes in-between sub-contracting projects that include general excavating tasks, underground water and electrical installations and sewer repairs.
Weand says his decision to purchase the 2300 was based in large part on the great experiences he has with his Bobcat dealership. "Reading Kubota has taken good care of us, even covering work that went beyond the warranty," Weand says. "If someone asks me about buying a machine, I always steer them to Bobcat."
In addition to using the machine for work purposes, Weand intends to take it on future hunting trips.
