Veterinarian Discovers Many Uses for Utility Work Machine

Chris Gaumont

For more than two decades veterinarian Chris Gaumont has used a variety of equipment—a skid-steer loader, garden tractors and utility vehicles—to work around her animal hospital and dog training facility in Acushnet, Mass.

“They all did what they were designed to do,” she says. “And I got my work done.”

More recently, she purchased a Toolcat™ 5600 utility work machine from Bobcat of Cape Cod, and discovered there was a better way to handle many jobs.

The 5600 is a one-of-a-kind four-wheel drive and all-wheel steer unit that combines all the best features of a utility loader, pickup truck and attachment carrier. With dozens of Bobcat® attachments available, the Toolcat machine is perfect for tackling a wide variety of jobs.

“Except for backhoe work, I can do everything with the 600 that I could with my 743 loader,” says Dr. Gaumont. “Plus, the 5600 allows me to use my other equipment less. It is truly a versatile machine.”

She has used the bucket to move dirt and transplant trees, and the pallet fork attachment for relocating a workbench and rubber kennel mats, moving piles of brush and removing small trees.

She gives the mower attachment high marks, too. “I have about 4 acres to mow, which includes the area where I train my German Shepherds,” says Dr. Gaumont. “I previously used a lawn mower hooked up to a utility tractor. The 5600 and mower attachment work much better—they do a phenomenal job. I get the mowing completed a lot faster. And my work environment is much better inside the cab of the Toolcat machine. It’s a very easy to use, comfortable piece of equipment, with unmatched versatility.”

The one-of-a-kind Toolcat 5600 saves time and labor like nothing else. With three dozen attachment choices and more power, it takes utility vehicle performance to a far higher level. The hydrostatic transmission offers high axle torque, simple shifting and excellent speed control, while all-wheel steering produces tight, turf-friendly turns. Options include high-flow hydraulics, bedliner and enclosed heated and air conditioned cab.
