Rotating Grapple Makes Many Jobs Easier

GRapple

The rotating featire of the grapple makes work easier.

Multi-function capabilities and 360-degree rotation make the new Bobcat® rotating grapple attachment for excavators more efficient than a trenching
bucket and hydraulic clamp.

Equip it with a dirt bucket to save valuable time digging rectangular holes or multi-dimensional trenches without having to reposition the excavator. Or, use the rotating grapple with a boulder bucket to place large landscaping rocks and timbers. It can also be used to move felled trees and to make easy work of demolition and site clean-up jobs.

The heavy-duty rotating grapple is available in two models. The model 30 is
approved for use with the Bobcat 331, 331E and 334D-Series and newer models
and the 430 excavator. The model 40 is approved for use on the 337 and 341 D-Series and newer models and the 435 excavator. Operation of the multifunction features requires secondary auxiliary hydraulics on the excavator.

Jason Malloy, operations manager for Landmarks Service Company, Macon, Ga., used the rotating grapple with his Bobcat excavator for cleaning limbs, small stumps and other debris left by hurricanes in Florida. He also used it to load debris into trailers in residential areas too small for larger
equipment to operate.

The excavator/rotating grapple unit proved faster and more efficient than
using a skid-steer loader with a conventional grapple attachment, he says.

“The rotating feature of the grapple on the excavator makes it a lot easier to stack the limbs, branches and other debris so that it dumps more easily,”
Malloy says. “For projects involving light debris, it saves a lot of time.”
