553 Loader Evolves into New S100
The Bobcat 553 skid-steer loader evolves into the new S100.
The Bobcat® 553 skid-steer loader has been upgraded with more horsepower, more torque and improved auxiliary hydraulic performance, thanks to an upgraded pump drive and higher hydraulic horsepower.
Renamed the S100, the loader's model number reflects its increased lifting capacity—1,000 lb. R.O.C. Performance enhancements include a 34 percent increase in horsepower and 28 percent more torque, ideal for pushing, lifting and digging applications. Ideal cycle times for lifting and tilting attachments have also improved by 35 percent.
Much like larger Bobcat loaders, the S100 has a maintenance-free chaincase with no chain adjustments needed. The bow-tie chain is lubricated by an oil bath that only requires routine maintenance at 1,000-hour intervals.
The new S100 features the G-Series cab—standard on other larger Bobcat loaders—with enhanced visibility of the attachment, tires and rear of machine; and easy entry and exit. An enclosed cab with heat is available as an option, as well as a suspension seat.
The new instrumentation panels, with easy-to-read gauges and an LCD display, provide helpful service reminders and clear warnings to inform the operator when the machine has a problem before it experiences a major failure.
