On July 30, 2007, Ingersoll Rand announced the sale of Bobcat Company to Doosan Infracore, a South Korean company with strong ties to the construction equipment industry.

Doosan Infracore Officials

Doosan Infracore officials visited Bobcat operations in North Dakota and greeted N.D. Governor John Hoeven in Bismarck.

The sale includes Bobcat manufacturing facilities in Gwinner and Bismarck, North Dakota; Carrollton, Georgia; Litchfield, Minnesota; Wujiang, China; Dobrís, Czech Republic; and Pontchâteau, France. The facilities employ approximately 4,000 people worldwide.

Also included in the sale were the Ingersoll Rand utility equipment and attachment businesses. Doosan Infracore operates a North America division called Doosan Infracore America Corporation that is responsible for all North American sales, service, and technical support for Doosan equipment.

The parent company, Doosan, has a long history with more than 100 years of doing business in Korea and beyond. Today, the company has 20,000 employees and sales revenues of nearly $11 billion USD.

According to Bobcat Americas President David Rowles, Bobcat compact equipment will complement Doosan’s existing product line, extend its presence in key geographic regions, especially North America and Europe, and provide Doosan core business platforms upon which to grow.
