Bobcat Enters Compact Tractor Market

If you own acreage, operate a farm or ranch, or run a commercial landscaping company or do grounds maintenance, and you haven’t heard the big news yet, please keep reading.

Bobcat CT230 Tractor

Front-end loaders and bucket attachments allow compact tractor operators to easily lift, carry and dump materials.

There is a new breed of Bobcat® equipment available today at participating dealerships. Bobcat unleashed its newest product — a line of compact tractors — with three models in late 2007 and six more models planned for 2008.

The first three Bobcat compact tractor models — the CT120, CT225 and CT230 — appeared at select dealerships late last fall with a horsepower range of 20 – 30 hp. In 2008, Bobcat will add two models in the first quarter and four more models by mid-year for a complete line designed to meet a wide range of customer demands.

Bobcat compact tractors are aimed at homeowners with acreage, small farms, ranchers, grounds managers, rental companies and commercial landscapers.

Implements Expand Tractor Versatility
Versatility has always been critical to the success of Bobcat products. These tractors are no different. Front-end loaders with bucket attachments are available to easily dig, lift, carry and dump materials. Additionally, seven Bobcat Category 1 implements are approved for use with the tractors, including the following:

  • Angle blade
  • Backhoe (requires rear hydraulic valve)
  • Box blade
  • Finish mower
  • Post hole digger (auger)
  • Seeder
  • Tine rake
Additional implements will be available from Bobcat in the near future.

A deluxe three-point hitch helps increase implement versatility. The CT225 and CT230 models feature telescopic lower links — including telescopic stabilizers and a crank lift rod — to allow operators to easily switch between implements in less time.

Standard Features Set Bobcat Tractors Apart
Furthermore, Bobcat compact tractors come standard with sealed electrical connectors, a suspension seat for a comfortable ride, a retractable seat belt, a neutral start and safety interlock system for operator safety, ROPS that fold down with no tools required, as well as a durable metal hood that can be fully raised for service.
