4x4 IntelliTrak®

IntelliTrak®: On-Demand 4x4 Drive for Your Bobcat Utility Vehicle

When you operate your utility vehicle, you don’t have time – or the patience – to anticipate challenging conditions and decide whether you need four-wheel drive. It’s a hassle to stop and lock the differentials or flip the switch on the dash. You need 4x4 traction right now.

Bobcat 4x4 utility vehicles remove those obstacles with automatic, on-demand IntelliTrak® four-wheel drive. Bobcat’s exclusive IntelliTrak® drive system delivers the best 4x4 traction and the easiest operation. You get instant 4x4 power when you need it the most – without shifting, buttons, levers or locking differentials. Don’t stop the utility vehicle or leave the cab.

Maximum Performance: Drive anywhere without worrying about the terrain. IntelliTrak provides instant 4x4 traction for hills and soft terrain. All you notice is the utility vehicle’s performance – in any conditions.

Easy Operation: Simply shift into forward or reverse and go. You have no buttons or levers to lock differentials or shift into 4x4. The IntelliTrak drive system automatically does it for you.

Uninterrupted Ride: The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) provides high torque and 25 mph forward travel speed. Bobcat’s exclusive IntelliTrak design eliminates the need to stop your utility vehicle and shift into low or high gear.

Ground Clearance: Bobcat utility vehicles have higher ground clearance for improved performance in difficult conditions.

Power Through Rough Terrain

Muddy job site? Pulling a trailer? Unexpected terrain? No problem. As soon as the rear wheels spin, IntelliTrak instantly locks the front differential and sends power to both front wheels. Now all four wheels spin at the same time for true automatic 4x4 traction. After you overcome the tough terrain, the front wheels automatically disengage to improve handling on pavement and minimize turf damage during turns.

IntelliTrak System Power Path

  1. Power from Engine to CVT
CVT provides variable gear ratio function of an automatic transmission
  2. CVT to Transmission
Gearbox that provides gear ratio change and forward/neutral/reverse function
  3. Transmission to Prop Shafts and Differentials
    Equal drive to both differentials
  4. Rear Engages and Drives Rear Wheels
Difference in pinion/ring gear ratios puts front wheels in freewheel mode at this moment

  1. One Rear Wheel Slips
All power goes to other rear wheel
  2. Second Rear Wheel Slips
After 1/8th turn of both rears, the front differential catches up and engages, powering both front wheels
  3. Two Rear and One Front Wheel Slip
All the power goes to remaining front wheel
  4. All Four Wheels Slip
All four wheels spin equally, all options are exhausted
