Bobcat Company played a significant role recently as more than 200 members of landscaping and tree care associations participated in the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) annual “Renewal and Remembrance” day at Arlington
National Cemetery.
In addition to helping sponsor the event, Bobcat Company donated use of an A300 all-wheel steer loader, S250 skid-steer loader, and two Toolcat™ 5600 utility work machines. Four Bobcat representatives also joined the effort, loading and moving materials in preparation for and during the event.
The annual Renewal and Remembrance was part of the PLANET Professional Leadership Meeting held in Washington, D.C., and was planned jointly with the American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA) and Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). This was the groups’ ninth event at Arlington.
Bobcat Company was given the opportunity this spring to participate, and decided to donate sponsorship support, equipment (with help from Bobcat of Northern Virginia), and personnel.
“This is a great way to get involved with the associations and support a worthwhile cause at the same time,” said Rob Otterson, Bobcat landscaping market manager. “We recognized that this is no small undertaking, and having a skid-steer loader, all-wheel steer loader, and the versatile Toolcat 5600 machines really came in handy.”
The majority of the work involved spreading lime over more than 250 acres and renovating landscaping around the Visitors Center. The Bobcat machines were used in various capacities for both efforts.
“I don’t know how we ever did this before without the Bobcat equipment,”
said Phil Fogarty, the event organizer.
