A MINDSET FOR MORE

Chip Gaines is a man on a mission. Or multiple missions. He’s the co-founder of Magnolia, a home renovation expert, an entrepreneur by nature and a cowboy at heart. But more than any good adventure or hard-working demo day, Chip loves reinventing the wheel on what we can build together.

Having Fun Getting Work Done

As a household name among consumers and the trade, Chip brings an authentic and relatable voice to consumers, professionals, DIYers, Bobcat fans and customers alike. Gaines is a longtime Bobcat customer who is passionate about the brand and absolutely thrilled about his new partnership with us.

When I heard that Bobcat was interested in partnering with me, I was ecstatic. This is a brand that goes way back for me. When I was a little kid, I remember seeing people driving Bobcat skid-steers, and I couldn’t wait to be in the driver’s seat—which just goes to show that when it comes to world-class equipment, Bobcat is it.

While his accomplishments and the brand he’s built with his wife Joanna might seem like an overnight success to some, they’re actually the product of a lot of hard work. And Chip wouldn’t have it any other way.

Ranching Roots

Chip credits his grandfather, JB, as someone he modeled his life after. As Chip describes him, JB was a tried and true cowboy as tough as they come. A throwback. And someone who taught him the value of hard work – work that starts when the sun comes up. From tending gardens to managing goats, pigs, cattle and horses, Gaines uses his Bobcat® equipment, including a compact tractor, zero-turn mower, compact track loader and utility vehicle, on their Texas acreage.

Life on the farm involves a lot of hard work, and at the end of the day, we need our equipment to work just as hard as we do.

There’s a responsibility that comes with farming that’s not lost on Chip. For him, it’s a duty and a privilege. And it’s that work ethic, knowing that the work is never done, that has allowed Gaines to continually break ground on new projects and build even bigger dreams.

Work and Play

That’s not to say Chip doesn’t have fun on the jobsite. If you’ve ever watched him on Fixer Upper, it’s clear he enjoys what he does. In Chip’s eyes, finding it hard to distinguish between work and play is a good thing.

On the best days, hard work with the right equipment just feels like fun. And with Bobcat, it’s how fun gets done.

For Gaines, peak enjoyment comes on what he calls demo day. It’s no-holds-barred, get the job done, wrecking crew mode where the right tools make all the difference. Some just happen to weigh 2 tons and come with an attachment for every task.

The Tools to Do More

On the jobsite, Chip recognizes how Bobcat equipment allows him to accomplish more. Between projects, such as restoring the historic Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas, starring in another season of Fixer Upper, building their lifestyle and tourist destination known as the Silos, and keeping up the day-to-day operations at the family farm, Chip Gaines has a lot to get done. And he thrives on the challenge.

Bottom line, when you’re out here, you need a machine that can do multiple versatile things … and I love it when me and my equipment get to find out what we’re made of.

Adding to his list of projects, Bobcat is partnering with Gaines on a host of initiatives and charitable projects over the next several years.

Turning Dreams Into Reality

Partnering with Bobcat is another step along Chip’s journey that he couldn’t have predicted but feels like hand in glove.

I’ve been using Bobcat equipment for years on my farm in Waco, Texas and in the construction business—I can’t imagine working without it. My Bobcat machines have helped me bring some of my biggest ideas to life. It’s just one of those iconic brands that is best in class, which makes me so proud and excited about this partnership.
