- Mohamed Edelbi immigrated to the U.S. from Syria in 1999.
- After settling in Kentucky, he decided to pursue his own business, starting with a Bobcat S220 skid-steer loader and a borrowed trailer.
- His determination and client satisfaction led him to grow the business through word of mouth.
- He has since expanded his services to include landscaping, fencing, trenching, snow removal and more. He also runs his own 156-acre farm with over 90 head of antibiotic-free cattle.
- Mohamed’s loyalty to Bobcat equipment stems from its versatility, reliability and excellent dealer support.
Mohamed Edelbi left Syria in 1999 in search of a better life. After meeting his wife, Angela, their journey brought them to Denver, Colorado, and later to Kentucky, where Mohamed faced a critical career shift after being laid off. Determined to succeed, he decided to chart his own path and start a business.
Building a Business From the Ground Up
In 2004, Mohamed launched Homerun’s Friendly Yard Works, a name inspired by a client’s spin on Mohamed’s middle name, Omran, and his cheerful personality. Starting with a Bobcat® S220 skid-steer loader and a borrowed trailer, Mohamed took on his first projects with little more than grit and determination. “I had no clients, but I told myself, ‘I’ll find the work,’” he says.
Over time, word of mouth spread, and his reputation for quality and care helped him grow his client base.
Mohamed soon expanded his services, offering landscaping, snow removal, fencing and trenching. He traded up from his first loader to larger models, including the T86 compact track loader, which he uses for heavy earthmoving and brush clearing.
