Childhood Friends Use Bobcat Equipment to Become Landscaping Pros
Published on November 15, 2024
- Anthony Heathco and Colton Roush are childhood friends who started Roadkill Lawncare & Landscaping together in their hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado.
- They started learning the ropes at 15, working for other landscaping businesses pulling weeds.
- After realizing the extra challenges of renting equipment, they began by purchasing a Bobcat® MT100.
- They’ve recently added a ZS4000 mower and T64 compact track loader to their growing fleet.
For Anthony Heathco and Colton Roush, a journey of friendship and business started long before they ever thought about running a landscaping company. Growing up as neighbors in Grand Junction, Colorado, the two met in kindergarten and have been best friends ever since.
Throughout high school, Anthony and Colton both worked similar jobs in the landscaping field, spending long days pulling weeds and pushing lawn mowers for $10 an hour. In those early days, they learned the ins and outs of the industry. Their friendship and shared experiences turned into a mutual passion for landscaping, and by 2018, they decided it was time to take the leap. They launched Roadkill Lawncare & Landscaping with a goal to transform barren construction lots into custom outdoor landscapes.
